About Orange Flower Healing LLC
Hey there. I’m Becky Holtzman, and Orange Flower Healing is my professional Reiki practice, established in 2016. My office is located on the square in downtown Bloomington, Indiana at 205 N College Ave, Suite 611.

I have logged hundreds of hours in private practice, working with people to address a variety of concerns, and I have particular experience in Reiki for cancer support. My approach to Reiki and working with clients is also influenced by 20+ years of study of the Tao, Hatha yoga, and secular-based meditation practices. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University in the mid-90s.
About Reiki and the Usui Shiki Ryoho System
Reiki–pronounced ray–key–is usually translated as “universal life energy.” I’ve found that the words “life energy” mean something slightly different for each person. Practically speaking, Reiki is a safe, gentle, light touch practice that encourages the physical body to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in deep relaxation and an excellent “base camp” for healing.
One can receive a Reiki treatment from a professional or a non-professional practitioner, and can also learn how to practice Reiki on themselves. I find it helpful to think of it this way: receiving Reiki from a professional is like eating at a restaurant; receiving Reiki from a non-professional is like dining at someone else’s house; and self-practice is preparing a simple meal for oneself at home. Usui Shiki Ryoho is the specific system of Reiki practice that I trained in. Usui Shiki Ryoho encourages longer training periods, and one-on-one apprenticeships when seeking Reiki mastery.
Reiki treatments are received fully clothed, covered by a light blanket and supported by pillows. The practitioner’s hands are placed on your head, torso and back, for 3-5 minutes at each position, following a specific treatment protocol. Extra attention can be provided for specific concerns. 60 and 90-minute sessions are available. For fees and scheduling, visit the Contact page. Please note the following disclaimer applies to all Reiki sessions:
Disclaimer: Becky does not medically diagnose or prescribe treatment. Do not discontinue any medical or psychological treatment you may be receiving. Becky is happy to work in conjunction with your current physician and healing team, and recommends telling your health care providers that you receive Reiki.
Before taking a class with Orange Flower Healing, I suggest that you schedule at least one Reiki session with me. I believe it’s important for you to experience Reiki as I practice it, to have a sense of my approach. An introductory session offers you an opportunity to ask questions, and gives us time to explore what brings you to Reiki.
Still with me? Great! Reiki is a simple, safe, and supportive practice that can help us navigate our lives with confidence. A commitment to Reiki practice supports our contentment, serenity, and the satisfaction experienced when we go with the flow of our individual nature. Reiki can be astonishing and transformative… with practice, practice, practice. This begins with daily SELF-practice. Once we have taken care of ourselves, we can offer Reiki to our loved ones. Mrs. Takata said: “You are Number One! Then, if you have time, treat your family and your friends; but in Reiki, you first, then other people.”*
What can you expect from a Reiki class with Orange Flower Healing?

Did you invest in a Reiki class, but feel like it “didn’t take”? Once we have Reiki, it never leaves us, but its effects are much more visible when practiced consistently and with commitment. If you’d like to reengage with your practice, we can work together to support that effort. Contact me about small-group refresher classes to inspire your practice in ways that are grounded and practical. I also offer one-on-one mentoring sessions for Reiki students who wish to deepen their practice. Contact me for details.
